I started painting portraits of Susie Orbach prior to our talk at the Freud Museum London in 2020. Unfortunately due to Covid 19 lockdown restrictions, our conversation was postponed.

Instead director Penny Woolcock made a film of Susie and I talking about my work in my studio. It was titled ‘Two Metres Apart’.

Previously Susie had written about my work in a book called FAB. During the Covid 19 epidemic Susie also wrote about the paintings/drawings I was making during lockdown – the title of that book was COVID. The conversation ‘Portrait’ is a sequel to the 2020 film ‘Two Metres Apart’.
